The Law of Public Contracts (348/2007) transposes the EU Public Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC. Section 44(1) on technical specifications states that “[w]henever possible, technical specifications should be defined so as to take account of the needs of people with disabilities.â€
It is also worth noting that under the action programme Towards Barrier-Free Communication of 2005, there was an objective that all public sector tenders for website design would include a requirement for accessible contents.
