France

Direct legislation and policy on the eAccessibility theme seem quite limited in France, mainly focusing on public websites and TV broadcasting to date. However, the disability equality legislation appears to have the potential for much wider provision in relation to eAccessibility (e.g. in telecommunications and other fields), although the practical implications in some fields are not yet clear. In relation to actual levels of eAccessibility achieved to date, from a comparative perspective the situation in France is a little below the European average.
