Horizontal or co-ordinated eAccessibility measures
The national information society strategy (Information Society Germany 2010, or iD2010) is an overall policy strategy for the development of the Information Society in Germany. eAccessibility issues for disabled people are explicitly mentioned in the chapter “continuation of digital integration”. The aim is to go beyond accessibility of web pages. All categories of modern information and communication technologies should be developed through “design for all”.
This is a high level document setting out the Government’s strategy for the coming years. For the first time eAccessibility is recognised as a dedicated issue for further policy attention. So far, no concrete policy measures seem to have emerged from this in relation to eAccessibility.
