Legislation/regulations
Though there is no direct legislation on the accessibility of websites, the equality legislation on the rights of disabled people appears to be influencing the development of more accessible websites.
Other initiatives
Public administrations are encouraged to adhere to the WCAG guidelines in a ‘Recommendation of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on e-Government of the Hungarian Government’. The latest version of this recommendation was published in December 2004.
There is an initiative of the NGO Látó-Tér Foundation which aims to inform developers how to develop websites that are accessible for blind and visually impaired people.
