Legislation/regulations
While there is no direct legislation on accessibility of websites in Latvia, the principle is contained in the concept of “equal rights for all†which was adopted on 30th June 30 1998.
Other initiatives
There is an initiative by the Ministry of Welfare to make its website (www.lm.gov.lv) accessible for people with vision impairments to WAI level A.
Also, the website of the Latvian umbrella body for disability organisations (SUSTENTO) is designed to be accessible for people with vision impairments to WAI level A.
