USA

The USA has an extensive array of eAccessibility-related legislation and regulations, and is the international forerunner in this regard. Notable aspects include the Americans with Disabilities Act (eAccessibility of various services), Section 255 of the Telecommunications Act (accessibility of telecoms equipment and services), and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (accessibility in federal procurements of ICTs). In relation to actual levels of eAccessibility achieved to date, from a comparative perspective the situation in the USA is better thanĀ in any European country.
